You don't need the MGI PhotoSuite (and a lot of I also had similar problems, so I gave up & uninstalled the MGI Photosuite program. I'm hoping the software is somewhat intuitive for simple functions although at this point I'd be happy just to see a photo. I would really appreciate any help someone might offer. I've not found any help on MGI's knowledge base nor have I come up with the correct question for the 'Help' menu. I have room to scroll vertically and horizontally as this window is quiet large (and takes several minutes to appear). I seem to have created thumbnails of the photos but when I double-click on any thumbnail, i get a full size window with a series of vertical gray, black and blue bars. I've struggled trying to open an image for the past couple of hours. I've successfully installed the software and connected the camera the via USB cable. I'm brand new to digital cameras and editing software. I purchased a DSC-P1 a few days ago, filled up a 64mb M Stick (mostly full-size 2048 x 1536 images) and am currently trying to view the photos in the supplied MGI PhotoSuite v8.1. I've been enjoying this forum for the past few weeks as I've researched cameras and appreciate the advice given.
